Biotrue ONEday for Presbyopia
Biotrue OneDay for
Presbyopia are multifocal
contact lenses produced by Bausch and Lomb. Presbyopia is a common vision defect
that occurs as a natural consequence of the aging process, and often begins to
affect people around the age of 40. The onset of presbyopia is defined by a
deteriorating ability to focus on nearby objects.
Three optical
zones
Biotrue ONE day for Presbyopia contact lenses provide an effective
solution for vision correction at all distances. Their special, three-zone
design uses the natural properties of the eye when focusing on distant, near,
and middle-distance objects. The individual optical zones are situated in
concentric circles, with the innermost circle providing a clear view of nearby
objects, and the outermost ring providing a view of distant objects.
High
water content and comfortable fit
To create Biotrue OneDay for
Presbyopia contact lenses, Bausch & Lomb uses HyperGel material (Nesofilcon
A) that combines the features of classic hydrogel and silicone hydrogel to
achieve a high water content and a high oxygen permeability. HyperGel technology
incorporates the active ingredients in the upper layer of the lens material,
creating a lipid layer that prevents dehydration. BioTrue ONEday have a water
content of 78%, which is among the highest on the market.
Protection
against UV radiation
Biotrue OneDay for Presbyopia contact lenses are
equipped with a UV filter that absorbs some of the sun's harmful UVA and UVB
rays. However, it should be noted that contact lenses with UV filters should not
be considered as a full replacement for sunglasses because they do not cover the
entire surface of the eye. It is always best to combine contact lenses with
UV-blocking sunglasses.
